Diabetic Diet

Making healthy food choices can help you to lose weight and lower your risk for heart disease, stoke and other problems caused by diabetes. A easy way to ensure a healthy balanced diet is to know how to create a healthy plate.

  • Fill one half of your plate with vegtables such as broccoli, greens, salad or carrots.

  • Fill one quarter with lean protein such as fish, skinless poultry, lean beef or beans.

  • Fill the other quarter with carbohydrates such as rice, potatoes, corn or whole wheat breads.
